It went great. We had a great night. A good start!
The was a good audience present
Gerry (Gearóid) Kelly was the MC, and he read The Prison Ship
Jersey later on, too. All the poems were read in Irish
first, then in English.
Raymond (Réamonn) Clark told the story of the Gerry Tobin Irish Language
School. The story that Raymond wrote is in the book, in its
entirety.
Jim (Séamas) read a couple of poems, and he told stories about the
ones his friends read. Each person that read, every one of them
wrote translations to English in the book.
Luke (Lugh) D. Powers read A Welcome for the
Beginners
Pat (Pádraig) Clifford read From a Stall in a Public
Toilet
Marge (Máiréad) Perron read The Nice Young Girl
Séamas answered questions for a little while.
Máiréad toasted the book, and we drank champagne.
Connor, Emily and Irene Norton sold books.
Shínigh Séamas iad.
We had music from na Buachaillí Dána, and a great party!
We were all very satisfied with it. It was certainly an historic occasion for the Gerry Tobin Irish Language School.
